The cool captain of the Indian cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni has shared his life story through a biopic. Dhoni is a popular name today, but not many knew about what the person had gone through before touching the feet of success in life. The name itself suggests that there are many aspects of the life of the Indian cricketer that was unknown to his fans.
The story began from Dhoni’s childhood, when he was m ore interested in games than studies. His father Pan Singh Dhoni played by Anupam Kher was constantly worried about his son’s future while mother was seen as a supportive character, who always managed to convince her husband to allow their son to pursue his dreams. The movie is contrary to the reports that it is a love story but the fact is that the flick is all about the struggle that Mahendra went through before he became the ultimate star of cricket.
Disha who played Dhoni’s love interest, being an eye candy, tried well to grab the attention of the audience but all eyes were on Sushant who did full justice to the character of M.S. Dhoni. Sakshi did not have much role in the movie but performed well. Anupam Kher as the father reminded of the middle class government employee working on the orders of the superiors. Bhumika Chawla was seen on the silver screens after a long time and supported well as Dhoni’s sister.
The only negative point of the movie was that the director stretched the movie too much in order to cover all the important aspects of Dhoni’s life which could have been avoided. Still the movie has been well executed and you just can’t take your eyes of Sushant who looked dapper as the Indian cricket team captain.
