The new television serial on Star Plus, Dhai Kilo Prem is produced by televion czarina Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and the first episode aired yesterday, April 3, 2017. Lead actors Anjali Anand and Meherzan Mazda have talked about their experience of shooting for the show.
Actor Meherzan plays the role of Piyush and put on a whopping 16 kgs for the role! In an interview with leading daily ToI, worked hard to put on all that weight in just a month and a half and shared that ever since he has added weight, he has developed health problems.
“Ever since I have gained weight, I am unable to sleep well, as I have started snoring. I have also developed hypertension. I get worked up easily and have become lazy . Earlier, I would hog everything and it seemed like a blessing in disguise since I am a foodie. However, I am now following a strict diet,“ said Meherzan in his interview.
While debutant, Anjali Anand was chosen for this role from over 900 applicants! The actress was spotted by makers in a coffee shop, after they had almost given up hope of finding the perfect Deepika for their serial. In an interview with ToI, Anjali spoke about how excited she was when she was offered the role – “I was excited to hear about the role. The audition too went well as per plan.”
Dhai Kilo Prem is a simple love story which revolves around two obese individuals who put their physical attributes aside and look for inner beauty in their partners. The two characters, Deepika and Piyush have a completely different perspective about life and different personalities. It will be interesting to see the two fall in love and the character’s journey through the show.
The show will definitely be a break from stereotypical love stories as it’s fresh take on love beyond physical beauty. The show also includes Kishwer Merchant (cameo), Kiran Karmakar, Benazir Shaikh and Manasi Joshi Roy in supporting roles.
