Mumbai court cancels arrest warrant against Sanjay Dutt in a case related to producer Shakeel Noorani

Bollywood bad boy, Sanjay Dutt’s bailable warrant was cancelled by a local court in Mumbai today, April 17. Producer Shakeel Noorani had filed a complaint against the Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. actor and alleged that he received death threats on behalf of the actor from gangsters, to settle a dispute related to the film Jaan Ki Baazi that was never completed.

Sanjay appeared at the Andheri Metropolitan magistrate two days after a warrant was issued and applied for its cancellation. Dutt’s counsel explained that there was a communication lapse earlier due to which Sanjay could not appear in the court. Noorani’s lawyer claimed that, the actor did not appear in the court since his release from jail that took place last February.

The producer alleged that Dutt signed a film with him after taking the initial signing amount of Rs. 50 lakhs and shot for just two days. On the other hand, Sanjay denied receiving any such amount from the producer. The actor was not allowed to have any interaction with the media and was immediately driven away in his car.

Dutt has served five years sentence in jail for illegal possession of arms out of which he had already spent 18 months during the trail. The actor was released from the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune on February 25, 2016. It looks like there is little to no respite for the actor, who looks like he has aged ten times over in the last few years. Though he is still shooting for films, his personal life and run-ins with the law are not yet over.
