After 16 years of being together, Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani Akhtar finally part ways

It was last year in January that Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani announced that they have chosen to part ways. They filed for divorce on October 19, 2016 through mutual consent. Fans couldn’t accept that after 16 years of relationship they were calling off their marriage. Even after getting separated they both share a healthy relationship and came together for daughter Akira’s birthday in February 2017. 

Farhan and Adhuna dated for three years before getting married in 2000. As reported by Mid-Day’s the custody of their daughters, Shakya and Akira’s has been granted to hairstylist and entrepreneur Adhuna Bhabani. However, Farhan Akhtar can visit them whenever he wants. Reports also suggest that yesterday when the case was called out twice, neither one of them turned up. In the second session, both of them were spotted walking in together with their lawyers. They were directly headed to principal marriage counsellor VS Athavale. The principal judge MM Thakare finally granted them divorce. Farhan’s lawyer, Fazaa Shroff-Garg and Adhuna’s lawyer, Taubon Irani have confirmed that the divorce is happening by mutual consent.

Post filing the divorce in October, the couple attended a few counseling sessions where they could decide if they still wanted to be together or not. After waiting for six months, couple declared that they wanted to get divorced.

Shortly after the couple separated, Adhuna gave a hint about her new love. She posted a poem on her Instagram account with the line, That the father of my children is a good human being, and that my new lover is a patient one’ If rumors are to be believed, Adhuna is said to be dating Dino Morea’s younger brother Nicolo Morea and Farhan is dating Bollywood actress, Shraddha Kapoor.
