Tejaswi aka Ragini looks gorgeous as Diya in her new television show, Pehredaar Piya Ki

After Color’s famous show Swaragini, fans are eagerly waiting for Tejaswi Prakash Wayagankar aka Ragini’s next show. It seems that she has found a rare one this time. Sony TV is coming up with a new show, Pehredaar Piya Ki which stars, Tejaswi Prakash as Diya and Afaan Khan as Ratan Harshvardhan Singh. It is said that she was first offered a role in Naamkaran of Star Plus but she refused it.

The concept of the show, Pehredaar Piya Ki is very unusual. It’s the story of an 18 year old girl who gets married to a 10 year old boy. It revolves around the girl whose father works for a royal family. Circumstances make the girl a caretaker of a 10 year old prince. The boy later develops feelings for her. The story reminisces of Yash Chopra’s classic, Lamhe where Anil Kapoor falls for an older Sridevi.

Tejaswi’s character is more of like a Rajput queen in Pehredaar Piya Ki as she is shown wearing a heavy lehanga and regal jewelery. The plot of the show is revealed in it’s recently launched trailer when Diya steps out for breaking her Karva Chauth fast and kneels down to her husband to celebrate. This is when the audience comes to know that her husband is a 10 year old boy. It is said that Diya marries Ratan to protect him and the wedding happens under unexpected circumstances.

The producers of the show, Shashi and Sumeet Mittal have started the shoot in Udaipur. After shooting there, the team will continue their work in Mumbai. This is Mittal’s third show in recent months after, Dil Se Dil Tak and Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji.

While Tejaswi did an amazing job as the negative character of Ragini, Diya seems to be a more positive role. It will be a late night show for Sony and will probably replace Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi. Watch this space for garam updates on Tejaswi Prakash and her new show!
