TV actor Kiran Kumar makes his debut in theatre with Charlie 2

Actor Kiran Kumar who was mostly known for playing negative roles on TV, made his theatre debut with the play Charlie 2. The premiere event saw the attendance of veteran actress Helen with Salim Khan, politician and fashion designer Shaina NC, Aruna Irani, Ranjeet, Kavita Kaushik, Tej Sapru, Kabir Sadanand, Mouli Ganguli with husband Mazher Sayed and others in Mumbai on May 1, 2017.

The play has been written, directed and produced by Kawal Sharma. Kiran is seen playing a double role in the play. Kumar is the son of actor Jeevan and shot to fame with the TV series Zindagi. The actor has been active in the industry since the 60s era. Apart from TV the actor has also appeared in various movies like LOC: Kargil, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Yeh Hai Jalwa, Shikari, Zanjeer, Auzaar, Kaalia, Army, Bewafa Sanam, Anjaam, Kasam Teri Kasam, Thanedaar and more.

The Bobby Jasoos actor is also the member of CINTAA and its core committee. Kiran has worked in about 550 Hindi films and 80 regional movies in a career spanning 43 years. The theatre prominence has dwindled in the last few years. With theatres and convenience taking over art, plays have not been a mode of entertainment. But with the introduction of a number of celebrities to act for theatre, audiences are bound to love it once again!
