Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan last work a decade ago on Saawariya
The big screen magical films of celebrated filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali are Indian cinema gold. And he seems to be very picky when choosing who will play the role of his memorable characters as well. Salman Khan has already acted in two of Bhansali’s films – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya. And it’s already been a whole decade since the two Bollywood bigwigs have done a project together. But, that may soon change.
The words came out of Salman Khan’s mouth itself, as he spoke to the media while promoting Tubelight. “We’ve been discussing a script. If it does happen, it’ll happen only after I finish all the films that I’ve taken up.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been pre-occupied with the production of his upcoming magnum opus, Padmavati. The film stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, along with Shahid Kapoor. Padmavati The Indian period drama is based on the true life event of Rani Padmavati, wife of the then-ruling Rana Rawal Ratan Singh of Mewar. Their fort in Rajputana is attacked by the Turkish ruler, Alauddin Khilji, in the hopes of capturing Rani Padmavati to make him his own. Stills from the shooting of the film have already been released; Deepika Padukone has shot the climax of the film which shows her performing jauhar.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is gearing up for the Eid release of his latest film, Tubelight. Fans are already delighted with his new avatar and are enjoying the tracks released for the film. The film also stars Sohail Khan in a war movie based during the Indo-Sino war of the 1960s. Chinese actress Zhu Zhu will be making her debut in Bollywood with the film that was inspired by Little Boy.
