TV actress Alka Kaushal, who is known for her role in the TV show Qubool Hai and played the role of Kangana Ranaut’s mother in Queen, has been sentenced to two years of imprisonment by a District Court in Punjab. The actress has been sentenced in the case of a bounced cheque. Alka and her mother have been accused of failing to return Rs. 50 lakhs to an acquaintance.

Reportedly, Alka had borrowed Rs. 50 lakhs from Avtar Singh to make a TV serial and when the money lender asked for his money, he was given two cheques of Rs. 25 lakhs each. However, both the cheques bounced and Avtar Singh filed a case at the Malerkotla court against the actress and her mother. The actress was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in 2015 which was challenged by her at a higher court. The actress appealed at the Additional Sessions Court at Sangrur in Punjab. However, the District Court upheld the decision of Malerkotla court and it is yet to be confirmed if she has been arrested or has surrendered.

Apart from Hindi films, the actress has also appeared in a few Marathi films. Alka is also famous for playing the role of Kareena Kapoor’s mother in Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijan.
