Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani have managed to impress the audience in the Hindi remake of the Telugu flick Arjun Reddy despite the fact that it has a predictable plot. The skills of the director and the cinematography are the factors that made the film work and stand out.

The film is about the life of a surgeon Kabir Singh, who is alcoholic and is in depression as his girlfriend is married off to someone else. The first half of the story has shown the flashback scenes which unravels the romance of Kabir and Preeti. The second half has shown the down side of Kabir who indulges in alcohol and drugs to forget his former girlfriend.

It can be conveniently said that the film belongs to Shahid Kapoor who has owned the character of Kabir Singh and his hardwork with the character is surely visible. On the other hand Kiara has well complimented Shahid’s character in a very effortless way. However, Preeti’s character could have been nurtured a little more. The supporting cast also deserves a mention as actors like Nikita Dutta and Arjan Bajwa have performed with confidence and conviction. Meanwhile Kamini Kaushal and Suresh Oberoi have also proved that they are reliable performers.

The basic plot of the film could have been worked a little better but the comedy portions were balanced throughout. Talking about the dialogues, Shahid has got the best of them while others could have got better dialogues as well. The only negative point is the fact that the film is stretched with a very lengthy running time. Overall the film is easy going as well as entertaining. If you love romantic dramas, then this one can surely entertain you this weekend.
