Bollywood Garam: Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is the latest diva to be caught red-handed by the customs authorities at the Mumbai international airport. The customs authorities had found that the actress was carrying undeclared good in her baggage.

The undeclared goods included some expensive diamond jewellery, as well as branded watches. The ‘Rab Ne Banadi Jodi’ actress was returning from the IIFA Awards in Toronto, when the custom authorities held her for questioning.

On questioning the actress, she stated that she had taken the jewellery and watches from India and bringing them back exempts her from paying custom duties. Anushka had even submitted some bills of the jewellery and the watches to defend herself.

The customs are still verifying the actress’ case. Meanwhile, Anushka has been booked under the sections 75, 111L, M and D of the Customs Act for the non declaration of the expensive goods. The actress has been allowed to go home. In case the customs finds that the jewellery has been bought from abroad, then the actress might have to pay duty of 36.05 percent of the value of the jewellery. Moreover, Anushka may also have to pay a huge redemption fee to take back the confiscated jewellery.

The customs officials seem to be cracking the whip on Bolllywood celebs over the past few weeks, as Anushka follows the footsteps of Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba in getting caught for undeclared goods.
