Remembering the legendary Dev Anand

Bollywood Garam: Bollywood star Dev Anand, who was once known as the heart throb of the Indian film industry,  passed away in London on December 3, 2011 and left fans deeply saddened by the loss. The actor who has contributed some amazing work for Bollywood, was 88 years old and is survived by his wife Kalpana Karthik and two children.

Anand was accompanied by his son, Sunil in London and was found unresponsive by him. The doctors were immediately called in, and they stated that Anand suffered a cardiac arrest.

Dev Saab was known for his fun loving nature and his characters on the silver screens were always different. The actor carried his own style and many of his fans till today imitate his style, the way he used to sway and woo his heroines.

The movie ‘Ziddi’ was a turning point in the career of Dev Anand, which made him a star. Some of his amazing works also include ‘Jewel Thief’ and ‘Guide’. Film making and acting has always been the first love of the actor and he had several muses including actresses Hema Malini and Zeenat Aman. His most recent work was the film ‘Chargesheet’ which was written, produced as well as directed by him. The movie was based on the mysterious death of the popular actress Divya Bharti.

Anand will be cremated next week in London.
