Ranveer Singh finalized for Bollywood remake of Telugu movie ‘Magadheera’


While actor Ranveer Singh shoots for his upcoming movie ‘Lootera’ the actor has now been roped in for a new project, which would be the Bollywood remake of the Telugu blockbuster movie ‘Magadheera’. The original movie had Junior Ram Charahn Teja in the lead role and now Ranveer in all set to take up the role.

Bollywood films makers Anurag Kashyap’s company and Vikas Bahl have already bought the rights of the Telugu blockbuster and have roped in their first actor. The makers are yet to get a promising director as well as a lead female opposite Ranveer.

The original movie was produced by Telugu heartthrob Allu Arjun. Bahl while talking about the Bollywood project said that it is good to have the rights and they look at it as a passion project. ‘Magadheera’ was an historical romantic drama and the makers though that Singh had all the qualities to be a love warrior and an entertainer as well.

Earlier Ranbir Kapoor was said to be roped in for the Hindi ‘Magadheera’ project. The shooting of the movie is expected to begin this year with a budget of 50 crores. Singh is currently preparing for the movie ‘Lootera’ along with the Bollywood beauty Sonakshi Sinha.
