Manish Malhotra Showcases Mijwan Summer 2017 Collection – A Fashion Show with a Cause
Bollywood’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ couple – Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma once again came together, as they walked the ramp for close friend and celebrated designer Manish Malhotra, at his Mijwan Summer 2017 Collection fashion show held in Mumbai on March 5, 2017.
Mijwan Summer 2017 saw Shah Rukh and Anushka in the designer’s shimmery outfits, and grabbed the audience’s attention with their star power. Later, the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actor took to his Twitter account to post a thank you note to officials for giving him the opportunity to walk the ramp for a social cause – women’s equality.

For the show, Shah Rukh Khan donned a traditional monochrome chikankari sherwani, while Anushka looked beautiful in a white chikankari lehenga paired with a matching feathered blouse.
Mijwan is a fundraiser initiative by veteran Bollywood actress and socialist, Shabana Azmi. Manish Malhotra took to Instagram and expressed his gratitude towards Shabana, Shah Rukh and Anushka by writing: “A #memorable end to a #spectacular #show @iamsrk @anushkasharma #manishmalhotralabel #manishmalhotraworld #mmalhotraworld”. (sic)
Mijwan Welfare Society is named after a village in Uttar Pradesh and was founded by the late Kaifi Azmi and father of Shabana Azmi. He had launched the NGO with an aim of creating employment opportunities for underprivileged women and reviving the art of chikankari embroidery. Shabana Azmi now runs the NGO in her father’s memory, along with Naresh Goyal’s daughter, Namrata.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma are all set to star together in another film by Imtiaz Ali. The untitled movie will also star Evelyn Sharma and is scheduled to release on August 11, 2017.
