Adipurush ready to be released on OTT

Adipurush (1)

Bollywood film Adipurush had created quite a stir due to a few dialogues in the film after it was released in theatres on June 16, 2023. As a result, the makers of the film removed the controversial dialogues and re-released the film. Now after two months of its theatrical release the Om Raut directorial flick is ready to hit the OTT platform. Adipurush saw Prabhas play the role of Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita and Sunny Singh as Laxman. The film will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 11, 2023. Surprisingly, no major announcements have been made by the makers about the OTT release.

Amazon Prime Video will be streaming the film in four south Indian languages – Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The Hindi version of the film will be released on Netflix. The Ramayana based mythological drama was originally made in Hindi and Telugu languages and was dubbed in other three languages. The film has been made in a budget of Rs. 600 crores and is touted as one of the most expensive films ever made. Adipurush earned Rs. 390 crores from across the globe which is why the film has turned out to be a commercial failure. However, the film has been critically acclaimed and appreciated by the audience and the critics if a few controversial dialogues were set aside.

On the other hand for Prabhas, the film has marked the third failure after the films Radhe Shyam and Saaho. However, the actor is expected to redeem himself with his upcoming film Salaar due to be released in September 2023.

Some of the other actors in Adipurush include Devdatta Nage, who played the role of Bajrang, Vatsal Sheth who played Indrajit, Sonal Chauhan who played Mandodari, Siddhanth Karnick who played Vibhishana, Trupti Todarmal who played Sarama and Krishna Kotian who played Dasharatha. The film has been bank-rolled by Bhushan Kumar, Om Raut, Rajesh Nair and Prasad Sutar and has been helmed by Om Raut.
