Anushka Sharma waves for the cameras at special screening of Phillauri
Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma hosted a special screening of her movie Phillauri in Mumbai on March 22, 2017. The actress was seen arriving at the screening venue and was all smiles for the shutterbugs. For her latest film, Anushka played two major roles -producer, and lead actress! This is the second time she was the producer for a film, the first one being social message movie NH 10.
The screening event saw the presence of Rekha, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Sanon, producer Homi Adajania, Bhushan Kumar, Dinesh Vijan, Rajkumar Hirani, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Kunal Kohli and others. Alia Bhatt and beau Sidharth Malhotra arrived together to the venue.
Anushka has, for the first time, ventured in to the rom-com film genre when it comes to production. The actress will be seen playing the role of a friendly ghost, Shashi. The movie also stars Diljit Dosanjh , Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada. The word Phillauri is used for the residents of the town of Phillaur in district of Jalandhar, Punjab. The term is similar to the way people of Amritsar are known as ‘Amritsaris’.
The movie is directed by Anshai Lal and is produced by Anushka and brother Karnesh Sharma under the banner of Fox Star Studios. Phillauri is all set to hit theatres on March 24, 2016. Do not miss an exclusive review of the film on Bollywood Garam.
