The special movie screening of Anarkali of Aarah was a big hit!

Several Bollywood celebrities were spotted attending the special movie screening of Anarkali Of Aarah on March 23, 2017. Directed by Avinash Das, Anarkali Of Aarah releases today, March 24, 2017.

Celebrities in attendance included Shama Sikandar, Mohit Suri, Pankaj Tripathi and lead actress Swara Bhaskar among others. The movie was recently in news, when some of its scenes featuring Swara were leaked and made headlines for their sensual nature. Swara Bhaskar stated that such incidents are upsetting and when some portions are leaked it makes them feel compromised and violated.

The actress added that the movie is definitely good and hopes that such incidents do not affect its business. Swara also shared that men must watch the movie as it conveys a social message. The actress will be seen playing the role of an erotic singer, who sings and danced to double meaning songs. While on the surface the film may seem like just another story about a dancing girl, it’s multi-layered storyline is what sets the movie apart.

Talking more about her role, the talented actress said that Anarkali of Aarah is about a woman’s grit and her fight against misogyny. The story has been inspired by true events and highlights the fact that every city has an Anarkali who needs to fight for her respect and place in society.

Swara was last seen in the movie Nil Battey Sannata and her acting was critically acclaimed. She was also seen in supporting roles in films including Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Raanjhanaa and Tanu Weds Manu Returns. The actress will also be seen in the upcoming movie Veere Di Wedding, which also stars Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.

Anarkali of Aarah also stars Sanjay Mishra and Pankaj Tripathi in supporting roles.
