Mahesh Bhatt is reportedly planning a remake of his 1991 hit, Sadak

Reports have been doing the rounds for a while that post the release of Mahesh Bhatt’s upcoming film, Begum Jaan, he is planning to remake his hit movie Sadak.

Sadak is a 1991 hit which starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles. However, the movie is most fondly remembered for Sadashiv Amrapurkar’s role as the brothel owner. For those who haven’t watched the original film, Sadak is the story of a man who falls in love with a sex-worker and has to face the social stigma of choosing a brothel worker as his life partner. In addition to that, he also has to deal with the brothel owner and the criminal nexus in order to free his love from their grip.

Moving on to Sadak’s remake, according to leading daily DNA’s report, a remake of Sadak is in the pineline and suggests that Pooja Bhatt will feature in the remake. But the interesting bit is that Alia Bhatt might feature as Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt’s daughter in the remake. The report also added that in the remake, father Sanjay Dutt will be on a rescue mission for his daughter, Alia.

If these reports are true, then Alia Bhatt might have just landed her most important role yet! Also, it will be interesting to see Alia Bhatt play on-screen daughter to real life sister, Pooja Bhatt.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is taking a break post the blockbuster performance of her film, Badrinath ki Dulhania at the box office. And Sanjay Dutt is working on his comeback movie, Bhoomi, which releases in August 2017.
