Varun Dhawan says quitting Twitter is only temporary and that he will be back
Varun Dhawan is doing exceptionally well in his career in Bollywood. The actor started off through Karan Johar bannered Student Of The Year. And just last month, he joined the elite 100-crore films with Badrinath Ki Dulhania. And now, he’s continuing to work non-stop for his father, filmmaker David Dhawan’s Judwaa 2.
Though Varun is in the news for his acting prowess, a few days ago, he made the headlines for more personal reasons. Varun Dhawan actually quit Twitter! While his contemporaries are socially active on multiple portals, Varun says he wanted to take a step back. According to an interview in a popular daily, the star was quoted as saying, “I have taken a break from Twitter. I never said that I am leaving it for good. After the first week of the release of Badrinath, I decided I would go off Twitter for a while. I’ve uninstalled the app. I felt it was necessary because I am doing a difficult film. Playing two characters [on Judwaa 2] can’t be easy with a lot of VFX and action involved. It’s physically draining, too, I need to be in great physical shape to pull off this film. Social media was a bit of a distraction. I’ll come back to it.”
He doesn’t understand why he is the subject of several Bollywood news tabloids. After all, he says he never likes involving himself with public discussions, and chooses to focus only on what’s important – his work. So deciding to move away from social media is actually a good move. Recently, a star from Hollywood, Selena Gomez, decided to get off Instagram because of the pressure that public opinion has on her personal life.
We really wonder when Varun Dhawan is going to get back to Twitter and get in on the action happening in the Twitterverse!
