Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wins Dadasaheb Phalke Award for her performance in Sarabjit
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looked splendid in an Anju Modi creation at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards ceremony held in Mumbai on April 21, 2017. The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress won an award at the event her performance in the movie Sarabjit. Aishwarya dazzled as she posed for the shutterbugs and was also seen with veteran actress Hema Malini on the red carpet. She also posed with the children from Smile Foundation, an NGO.
The event also saw the presence of Divya Khosla, Urvashi Rautela, Sara Khan and Falguni Pathak. Aishwarya Rai’s Sarabjit was directed by Omung Kumar and featured Randeep Hooda and Aishwarya in lead roles. The movie was the story about Sarabjit Singh, who by mistake, crosses the border between India and Pakistan and is sentenced to death by the government of Pakistan for terrorism. Aishwarya played the role of Sarabjit’s sister who fights for justice for her brother to be released from the Pakistan prison.
The Dhoom 2 actress recently lost her father Krishnaraj Rai. Aishwarya also celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with husband Abhishek Bachchan on April 20, 2017.
