After the movie ‘Student Of The Year’ released, filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to bring another movie to the big screen which is based on growing up teenagers. The makers of the upcoming movie ‘Gippi’ have released its first official trailer, which has already grabbed plenty of attention.
Gippi is a drama which is directed by Sonam Nair and is produced by Karan Johar. The main characters in the movie are played by new faces Riya Vij and Taaha Shah. The movie is a story about a teenager who is over-weight and hates the idea of dieting. The promos of the flick suggest that Gippi aspires to become a heroine, but she thinks that she is not as hot as other girls.
Reports say that the makers of Gippi had to undertake extensive auditions to find a Delhi-based 13-year-old girl, after which they found Riya for the title role in the flick. The movie has been shot in Shimla and Mumbai. One of the promos of the movie also shows Parineeti Chopra, who says that she was also like Gippi, who was overweight and never imagined that she would become a heroine some day.
Chopra added that she also was like the character, who used to hate parties and shopping, as none of the clothes fit her well. Checkout the trailer below.
