Actress Sonam Kapoor lost her maternal grandmother, Draupadi Hingorani Bhambani on April 29, 2017. The Kapoor family hosted a prayer meet, where celebrities from Bollywood offered their prayers and condolences in Mumbai on May 1, 2017. Sonam announced the sad news through her official Instagram account on the day her grandmother passed away.
The Raanjhana actress wrote, “Love you nani, will miss you so much. Thank you for teaching me everything.. 23/5/1928 to 29/4/2017 Draupadi/Duru Hingorani Bhambani always in our hearts.” Sonam had also shared a few old pictures of her with her grandmother. The prayer met saw the attendance of Arjun Kapoor, Saiyami Kher, Poonam Sinha, Ranveer Singh, Poonam Dhillon, Neelam, Satish Shah and others.
Even Sonam sister Rhea shared an emotional message through Instagram and wrote, “What a lady, what a legacy. I will always remember you as my spirit and my strength nani. I love you forever. #duru.” Sonam on the work front is working on her upcoming movie PadMan while sister Rhea is looking forward towards her production Veere Di Wedding.
