Dharmendra, Hema Malini kick off Utkarsh Sharma’s debut directorial Genius – Photos

Dharmendra and Hema Malini bless Anil Sharma’s son Utkarsh Sharma at the mahurat shot of his debut directorial,Genius

Veteran stars Dharmendra, Javed Akhtar, Hema Malini,Parikshit Sahni and director Abbas-Mastan graced the Mahurat ceremony of Genius on May 22, 2017. Genius marks the directorial debut of filmmaker Anil Sharma’s son Utkarsh Sharma. The event was also attended by Rajkumar Santoshi and Bharat Dabholkar.

At the mahurat shot of Genius Dharmandra said, “Today it’s the launch of our son’s film ‘Genius’. I pray that he comes out as a genius and succeeds in life. God should bless him with best of everything in life. I hope he never forgets his roots, never takes fame seriously… Then only he can manage to win hearts”. Dharmendra gave the inaugural clap to mark the beginning of the shoot.

Hema Malini too shared fond memories of her with Ukarsh’s father, Anil Sharma  at the event and revealed that she has known the filmmaker since he was an assistant director for The Burning Train. Proud father Anil Sharma was all praises for his son and said that it is not easy to become a star but his son has the caliber to helm a film and make it a big success. The filmmaker added that if the script is right nothing can go wrong.

Utkarsh Sharma even starred in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, in which he played the role of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s on-screen son Charanjeet. He recently graduated in a direction and acting course from a Los Angeles school and we are eagerly looking forward to his film!
