Brett Lee promotes effective music therapy for cancer afflicted children

Former cricketer, actor and musician Brett Lee promoted music therapy as he joined hands with St. Jude Childcare Centre in Mumbai on June 8, 2017. The Australian cricketer promoted music therapy for cancer afflicted children at St. Jude Childcare Centre. He visited the young patients there and made them happy with his presence.

Being a musician, Brett is a skilful guitar player and has sung a song You’re the one for me with the legendary singer Asha Bhosale, back in 2011. Later in that year, Brett introduced Mewsic to the world, a non-profit organisation which promotes music as a therapy for cancer patients. He strongly feels that music has the cure for most things. While at the health care centre he mentioned that “every time Sachin Tendulkar hit me for a four yet again, or scored another ton against Australia, I could always go back home and turn to music” which broke everyone present into a guffaw. He further added that “I think growing up as a kid, I was learning about music therapy without even knowing what it was. The joy and the look on my face when my brother would bring out the guitar or when my younger brother or mother would play the piano…the feeling was incredible. So when there’s music therapy, it makes you feel good. You hear a song on the radio that can bring back sad and happy memories. It doesn’t matter what kind of memory it is, music’s a way for your brain to tap into different parts of your life.”

Lee, during the media interaction, talked about the ongoing Champion’s Trophy. The Former Australian pacer said, “It’s been a pretty good tournament so far. And the thing I have enjoyed is watching India play some really good cricket. India have a good chance (to win) and also I want to back my country Australia (to lift the CT)”. Brett also talked about India’s win against Pakistan on June 4, 2017. The cricketer was all praises for the Indian team and said that they have got the right players with a great balance of batting and bowling. The Australian cricket team are in Group B and are currently in the second spot as both the games were washed out due to rain.
