Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt is already in jail, serving his term of 3 and a half years and now it is very likely that a fellow Bollywood actor might join him. Reports say that ‘Dabangg’ charmer Salman Khan is likely to face imprisonment for ten years regarding the hit-and-run case. The session court in Mumbai is likely to deliver its verdict on Monday, June 24, 2013, on the plea of the actor in connection with the case.
Khan might have to face imprisonment for about ten years for culpable homicide not amounting to murder charge. The superstar had earlier appealed against an order by the magistrate for his retrial in 2002 hit-and-run case under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Salman was tried by a magistrate under lesser charges of causing death by negligence, for which the maximum punishment is two years of jail time.
However, there was a twist in the case, as the metropolitan magistrate examined 17 witnesses and brought more serious charges against the 47-year-old star, which were levied to culpable homicide and re-trial was scheduled.
Recently, Sanjay Dutt was sent to the Yerwada Jail of Pune after he was convicted in connection with the Bombay blasts case.
