Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar are in Delhi for the promotions of their upcoming film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. After London and Mathura, the actors were photographed in Delhi for promotions on August 9, 2017.
Akshay and Bhumi complimented each other in black co-ordinated outfits. Bhumi was seen in a black cold-shoulder outfit while Akshay looked dapper in a black shirt, black pants and a black tie. The promotional event also saw the presence of Anupam Kher, who was also seen in a black shirt with white polka dots and black pants.
The promotional event had custom made cushioned toilet seats to match with the theme of the film, which promotes cleanliness. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will talk about the problem of open defecation in India and will encourage people to build toilets at home. The film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and is scheduled to be released on August 11, 2017.
The Akshay and Bhumi starrer film was in news for its CBFC certification. A leading daily mentioned that the film got eight verbal cuts and was given a UA certification. However, Akshay later clarified in an interview with a leading daily, that there were just three verbal cuts, contrary to the reports that there were eight. Kumar said, “I remember one of the cuts clearly… They asked us to remove the word ‘haraami’ and there two more verbal cuts. I don’t know from where this news comes that the film has got 8 cuts… I was surprised myself”. Whatever might have happened with the CBFC, the film definitely has a good message of sanitation and ending open defecation in the country.
