Filmmaker R.S. Prasanna who is coming up with his new release, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has reportedly appreciated the lead actors of the film, Ayushmann Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar saying they are “director’s delight.”
Khurana and Pednekar have both separately worked in movies based on taboo issues in society that are important to deal with. While Khurana has aced such a role in Vicky Donor, his debut film, Pednekar has recently achieved success in her performance as a stereotype-breaking woman in a village that practices and advocates open defecation in the movie, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha opposite established actor, Akshay Kumar.
Prasanna’s words of praise came at a promotional event for the film on Radio FM 104 (Fever) on August 17, 2017. He was quoted saying, “Ayushmann and Bhumi are a director’s delight, both on screen and off screen. They are fantastic to work with. I became a huge fan of their work after ‘Dum Laga ke Haisha’. It was a unanimous choice to have them cast in our film. For me, it was love at first sight when I met them.”
The radio promotional event was carried out for the new song release in the movie, Kanha sung by Khurana who proclaimed the song was his favourite in the film. As reported by a news agency, he said, “It is a love song in the film and our favourite too. I have sung the unplugged version of the song and we are very excited for the same.”
Pednekar is hoping that this “special film” will garner her “the same love and respect from everyone” that she received for her two previous films, Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.

Speaking about the movie at the radio show, Pednekar reportedly explained: “It talks about something that people and even couples would not even think about talking openly. I really hope this conversation starts. It is very fun and entertaining family film where there is a beautiful chaos going on.”
Khurana and Pednekar portray the characters, Mudit and Sugandha who are a newly engaged couple dealing with sensitive issues in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan that is Prasanna’s Hindi remake of the Tamil version. The quirky film with a social message is set to hit the theatres on September 1, 2017.
