Actress Richa Chadda was photographed supporting the an initiative that promotes the use of eco-friendly Ganesh idols in the upcoming Ganesh Festival. The Fukrey actress visited the centre of Tree Ganesha in Mumbai on August 23, 2017. Richa is now a part of an initiative started by Dattadri Kothur. The Ganesh Idols are designed in such a way that it grows into a tree after it is immersed in the water.
Richa and Kothur were also photographed making an idol at the workshop. The Masaan actress said, “I’m happy to support this. This initiative is something I have heard of in the past, but this is the first time that I have physically been part of something like this. I think it’s high time we need to stop polluting the environment in the name of festivals and be careful as soon it would be too late.”
The actress also expressed that it saddens her when she sees such a state of the roads and beaches during the Ganesh Festival and when crackers are burnt, which result in dirty beaches by the time of Visarjan. Richa has appealed that Tree Ganesha is the perfect solution to save the environment and to value the environment by planting trees.
