Shrivallabh Vyas, who has been bed ridden since four years passed away at the age of 60 in Jaipur on January 7, 2018. The actor, is best known for his role in Lagaan and Sarfarosh and breathed his last at 9:30 am. The funeral of the actor was held in the evening on January 7, 2018.
In 2008, the actor had suffered a brain stroke which followed with a paralytic attack when he was shooting for a film in Gujarat. He was found profusely bleeding the next morning, after he fell in the middle of the night. The next day, the actor was operated and since then he was bed-ridden. However, his wife could not afford the medical expenses and they then relocated from Mumbai to Jaisalmer and later shifted to Jaipur for his treatment.
The actor’s wife Shobha approached the Cine and TV Artists Association for financial help but was left disappointed. Actors, Irrfan Khan, Aamir Khan and Manoj Bajpayee were the ones from the industry who provided financial help to Vyas. Aamir not just helped them financially but also visited the actor when he was shooting for the film PK in Jaipur.
Vyas has been a part of more than 60 films and TV shows but some of his note-worthy films include Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Lagaan and Sardar. Shrivallabh Vyas is survived by wife Shobha and two daughters.
