Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna and Radhika Apte promote Padman in Delhi

Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna and Radhika Apte hosted a press event to promote their film Padman in Delhi on February 5, 2018. The press event also saw the presence of the Padman himself Arunachalam Muruganantham.

Sonam Kapoor, who will be seen playing a tabla player in the film, gave a miss to the promotional event. Radhika looked great in a black outfit while producer Twinkle looked pretty in a black top, a trendy jacket and a colorful maxi skirt. Akshay looked dapper with his bald look and was seen wearing a black pullover and a checked pants with a pair of glares.

Radhika, Akshay and Twinkle had a great time interacting with the media and audience. Twinkle, who will be making her debut as a producer, in an earlier interview was asked if Akshay was the first choice for the role to which she said, “At first, I was thinking of making the film with a smaller budget. Our cinema is divided between commercial and alternative cinema, so I thought I will probably make something in the latter space. Honestly, a documentary reaches only limited people and some film festivals. The point here is not to just educate the educated, but to also educate the uneducated.’’

The film is directed by R Balki and is the biopic on Arunachalam who made low cost sanitary napkins for women in the rural areas, who could not afford expensive sanitary pads available commercially. Padman is ready to be released in theatres on February 9, 2018.
