Close friends Rekha, Karan Johar and Manish Malhotra at Anil Kapoor’s residence

Sudden demise of veteran actress Sridevi came as a shock for the entire film industry and fans. The 54 year old was fond unresponsive in a bathtub at the hotel where she was staying with husband Boney Kapoor. Well-wishers Rekha, Karan Johar and Manish Malhotra were seen visiting Anil Kapoor’s residence in Mumbai on February 25, 2018.

Rekha was seen visiting Anil Kapoor’s residence to meet Sridevi’s daughters Janhvi and Khushi. Karan and Manish were seen at Anil’s house during late night hours. Manish in a statement said, “Sridevi and I first met in 1990 when she was already a superstar and I was beginning my career. Working with an icon I always called ‘Ma’am’ was a turning point in my career, as it was the beginning of many associations and a longstanding friendship beyond work.”

According to the Indian consulate in Dubai, Sridevi passed away in her hotel room at 11 pm on February 24, 2018. The actress had a fainting spell in the bathroom and was immediately taken to the hospital but was announced dead on arrival. The Forensic department officials said that after the embalming, the mortal remains will be sent to Mumbai through a private jet. A UAE based daily said that Indian industrialist Mukesh Ambani has offered his jet to fly Sridevi’s remains back to India. Sridevi’s remains will be brought back to India on January 26, 2018.

Sridevi was in Dubai to attend nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding with Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi Kapoor. The Sadmaa actress was excited for her daughter’s debut with the film Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter. Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan and is due to be released in theatres on July 20, 2018.
