The highly-anticipated movie ‘Grand Masti’ hit the theaters in India on September 13, 2013 and it is certainly living up to the expectations of the audience, as it managed to bag a blockbuster weekend. The Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s movie opened with Rs. 12.51 crores on the first day of its release.
With this success, the adult comedy has become the 4th highest opening of 2013, after other Bollywood blockbusters like ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Race 2’. After a good start on Friday, September 13, 2013, the movie even managed to score well during the weekend across the country on single screens, as well as multiplexes.
The figure on Saturday, September 14, 2013 went to Rs. 13.21 crores and the figure on Sunday, September 15, 2013 went to Rs. 14.46 and took the tally to an enviable Rs. 40.18 crores. The movie has Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi, along with 6 gorgeous actresses. The adult comedy is the sequel to the 2004’s movie ‘Masti’.
The movie deals with the subject of adultery, which has been presented in a new and refreshing way. ‘Grand Masti’ is also a breath of fresh air amidst serious movies released in recent times. The movie is produced by Ashok Thakeria and Indra Kumar, presented by Bharat Shah and is distributed by Eros International Worldwide.
