Akshay Kumar is all set and looking forward towards his upcoming film Gold. The actor is currently on a promotional spree with his co-stars Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sunny Kaushal. Akshay along with Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sunny Kaushal promoted their upcoming flick at an event in Mumbai on August 14, 2018.
Akshay will be seen playing the lead role of Tapan Das who plays the role of a Hockey coach. The film also stars Mouni Roy who will be seen playing the role of Akshay’s on-screen wife. The film is based on the story of the first Olympic Gold that was won by the Indian Hockey team post Independent India.
The film was officially announced in October 2016 and Arjuna Award winner and former Indian Hockey team captain Sandeep Singh was roped in to train the actors to improve their hockey skills. Some of the major portions of Gold were shot in Yorkshire and the Midlands in England. The film will be released in theatres on August 15, 2018.
