Essel Group’s entertainment channel Zee has joined hands with some of the distribution players like the Dish D2H, Airtel Digital TV, Tata Sky and other platforms in the international market. It has launched a pay-per-movie service known as the Zee Plex that will be available on TV as well as the digital platforms. The service can also be accessed on the streaming platform Zee5.
The new service by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd is all set to be launched on October 2, 2020 and aims to bring the theatre experience to homes. The recent trend of watching latest movies at the comfort at home became popular due to the coronavirus pandemic after the theatres were shut as a safety measure. The fresh service by Zee will be available 24/7 and will feature during a number of intervals during the day.
The customers will be able to have the required flexibility. The viewers will have the flexibility to book the movies in advance and watch any new movie releases with family on a single ticket. There are a number of payment options that can be used to pay for their favourite films.
The announcement by Zee Plex has come amidst a time when the OTT platforms have become popular and people are now indulging more on the streaming platforms for entertainment. Many filmmakers have also released their films on the OTT platforms instead of the theatres.
