Vinta Nanda and Mahesh Bhatt organized a special screening of their documentary ‘Mango Girls’, which was arranged at Acee – The Third Eye office in Andheri. The new documentary is based on the girl child and is directed by Kunal Sharma.
The documentary is about people of Dharhara – which is a tiny village in Bihar – and the way they prevent female infanticides by planting ten mango trees when a girl child is born. After five to seven years, fruits of the planted trees help with the education, wedding and an overall well-being of the girl.
During the screening, Bhatt said that he is happy that people like Kunal and Robert Carr have taken the initiative to make a movie like this.
