Fans of Ranveer Singh and cricket can now rejoice as the upcoming film 83 now has a release date. The upcoming Kapil Dev biopic is all set to be released on Christmas, 2020. The decision has been taken as the cinema halls are ready to be reopened after coronavirus pandemic induced lockdown.
Recently Reliance Entertainment had announced that Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi will be releasing during Diwali, 2020 but now it seems like the release date has been delayed to 2021. But the Ranveer Singh starrer 83 is all set to be released during Christmas, 2020.
CEO of Reliance Entertainment, Shibashish Sarkar confirmed about the development to a leading daily and said that they do not want to change the date of 83 for the sake of Sooryavanshi. Sarkar added that they are yet to decide on a date for Sooryavanshi which stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. The cop drama is likely to be released between January and March, 2021.
The Kapil Dev biopic also stars Deepika Padukone as Romi Bhatia Dev, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Sahil Khatter, Chirag Patel, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, Parvati Nair, Aditi Arya and others. The film is directed by Kabir Khan and was scheduled to be released on April 10, 2020. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, the makers decided to wait and not release it on an OTT platform like many others did.
