Anupam Kher starrer Vijay 69 first look out!

Indian production house Yash Raj Films has announced its upcoming project Vijay 69 starring Anupam Kher in the lead role on May 4, 2023. The first look of the film has been released with Anupam Kher sweating it out on a sports cycle. Vijay 69 will be released on an OTT platform and will be narrating a story about a sexagenarian man played by Anupam.

The title character in the film decided to compete in a triathlon contest at the age of 69. The film is helmed by Akshay Roy, who has earlier directed the film Meri Pyaari Bindu with the production house. Roy has earlier also worked on some of the other films like Taare Zameen Par starring Aamir Khan and The Namesake by Mira Nair. He has also worked as an assistant director in the film Water by Deepa Mehta. The film is bank-rolled by Maneesh Sharma who has earlier directed by Band Baaja Baarat. He has also produced some of the films like Sui Dhaaga: Made In India and Dum Laga Ke Haisha.

Sharma at present is also directing the much awaited film Tiger 3 which has Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Yash Raj Productions these days is producing more shows for the OTT platforms including its crime thriller Mandala Murders. The show has been created and directed by Gopi Puthran which stars Vaani Kapoor and Vaibhav Raj Gupta in the lead. This is the first time Vaibhav has been cast as the leading actor after his stellar performance in the film Gullak. The series will be co-directed by Manan Rawat, who has earlier worked as an Associate Director on a number of films under the YRF banner.

YRF will also be producing another show for the OTT platform, The Railway Men, which is based on the infamous Bhopal Gas Tragedy in 1984. The series has R Madhavan and Kay Kay Menon in the lead roles.
