Sirf Ek Bandaa Hi Kaafi Hai is based on real life incidences related to the infamous life, arrest and controversy of the self-prolaimed god-man Asaram Bapu. The film premiered on the OTT platform Zee5 on May 23, 2023 and has already grabbed eyeballs as it narrated the true incidences of the case that involved a rape of a minor girl.

The story has narrated the struggles of Advocate PC Solanki who fought against the toughest odds for the minor girl who had approached him to punish the accused. The film has Manoj Bajpayee playing the lead role as PC Solanki while Surya Mohan Kulshreshtha played the role of the self-proclaimed god-man. The director has pin-pointed towards the rape case of the minor, who with the help of Adv. Solanki fought her fight towards justice. However, the god-man was accused and convicted in a number of criminal and civil cases. The five-year long fight saw the struggle of not just the minor victim, but also of the advocate, who not just fought the case free of cost, but also faced threats and was lured towards crores of Rupees to drop the case.

But Adv. Solanki was determined to serve justice to the minor, who fell prey to the baba at his ashram. The court-room drama, saw a number of high-profile advocates who represented the accused to get him bailed out, but each one of them failed in their efforts while Solanki managed to stand strong despite being a small and not so popular advocate.

Sirf Ek Bandaa Hi Kaafi Hai faced backlash from Asaram’s charitable trust Sant Shri Asaramji Ashram Charitable Trust while alleging that their film is objectionable and defamatory. But the court still cleared the film for release. The film is not just a piece of entertainment but a story of triumph of a minor searching for justice for what she faced.
