Haunted 3D movie review – Horrifying, yet bland

Bollywood Garam: Bollywood director Vikram Bhatt should be applauded for his venture to make India’s first stereoscopic 3D horror movie, Haunted 3D. But, being the first 3D horror movie is sure to result in some mixed reviews – the most common one being that the film deserves to be a little more interesting as far as the story line was concerned.

So how does Haunted 3D live up to the whole hype? After watching the movie we come to the conclusion that the story is predictable, the actors are average and the only thing that works happens to be the sudden moments in the movie with special effects. Moreover, even though 3D has added a great amount of life to movies, in this case, it could not do justice to the movie.

Thee movie stars veteran actor Mithoon Chakraborthy’s son Mahakshay Chakraborthy, debutant Tia Bajpai, Arif Zakaria and Achint Kaur. In the movie, Mahakshay is the hero who deals with the ghosts, while Tia does not seem to have a big part besides screaming all the time.

On an objective side, the movie has a touch of romance, thrill, horror and some boredom. The people who have done a commendable job are the ones who have played the role of ghosts, as they have managed to scare the audience with their spooky looks.

The music in Haunted 3D has been given by Chitranjan Bhatt, who has done a commendable job. But despite so much of hard work and incessant promos on being India’s first 3D film, the movie has failed on its claims overall.

Haunted 3D is recommended for those who love to watch Mahakshay or just want to have an experience of 3D. Don’t get your hopes high on it being an entertainer or you will be totally disappointed.
