The much-awaited Sanjay Leela’s version of Romeo and Juliet, ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela’ has hit the theaters. The new movie is a treat for the eyes, which has always been the director’s forte.

Apart from ‘Romeo and Juliet’, the flick also drew inspiration from Ramayan, as there is Ram who is sent on ‘vanvas’ and returns to fight against Raavan, or evil. However, he is also Romeo and has to fight for his love, Sita, who is called Leela in this case. As expected, every scene in the movie has its own design and imagination and kudos to the director for building a story between the two main characters played by Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

Some emotions in the flick are a bit overdone or messy, but still the makers made sure not to overdo too much and everything has been done with perfection. There is plenty of dance, music, celebration and everything else with a Gujarati flavour. However, the whole structure is brought down as it gets too stretched and too wordy at some point.

Overall, the movie provides some good entertainment and can be watched this weekend.
