BollywoodGaram.com: The Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra-starrer movie ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ was released on February 7, 2014 and is already doing well at the box office. Experts say that the Vinil Mathew-directed movie has scored better than Adhyayan Suman-starrer ‘Heartless’.
The weekend earnings of ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ have reached Rs. 18.5 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh Tweeted, “Hasee Toh Phasee’ has collected Rs.18.5 crore net. India business only”. The movie was produced by Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar with Rs. 25 crore. The romantic comedy hit about 2,000 theaters on February 7, 2014.
Meanwhile, the directorial debut of Shekhar Suman, ‘Heartless’ – which was released on the same day – hit about 800 theaters. Other movies which have also been released at the same time include ‘Ya Rab’ and ‘Babloo Happy Hai’. ‘Heartless’ scored well – with Rs. 75 lakh – over the weekend. Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines said that the other two movies have been a disaster.
The COO of PVR Cinemas, Gautam Dutta said that the makers of ‘Heartless’ have marketed their flick well and added that the occupancy was around 70 percent. ‘Heartless’ is a story based on the concept of anesthesia awareness.
