Bollywood Garam: The Bombay High Court on Wednesday waved the green flag for the release of the controversial film, ‘Not A Love Story’. The order has come as a relief to the film maker Ram Gopal Varma, who had earlier claimed that the movie was based on the murder of the television executive Neeraj Grover.
A suit was filed by former naval officer Emile Jerome, who was convicted in the year 2008 murder case. Jerome was seeking a ban on the film saying that the release of the film would hamper his appeal, which is already pending in the High Court.
Moreover, Kannada actress Maria Susairaj too had approached for an injunction on the movie release. Susairaj is also involved in the case with the lighter charges of destruction of evidence.
The advocates Vibhav Krishna and Veerendra Tulzapurkar, who had appeared for the producer of the film had said that the prints of the movie have already been sent to the distributors across the country and that it is impossible to call them back. Moreover it was also argued that the film has a caption that the story of the movie is not based on any story or incident and is a work of fiction. The court had then accepted the arguments and had allowed the release of the film.
