After the success of the 2008 movie Rock On, the makers are now planning to make a sequel. Director Abhishek Kapoor, who had made the movie with actors Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli and Luke Kenny was ready to start the sequel immediately after the release of the film.
But then the director had his reservations saying that he does not want to rush with the sequel. Kapoor added that the sequel has to stand on its own feet and not just be a carry forward of the original.
Sources from the production unit have said that the film will be called as Rock On!! 2 and that the entire cast and crew is ready for the production. Earlier, Kapoor was reportedly working on the adaptation of the novel of Chetan Bhagat, ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’ and also another original script.
But now Abhishek is now totally focused with the sequel of Rock On. The earlier cast of Farhan, Purab and Arjun have been retained for the sequel and will be playing their earlier characters. While Luke Kenny, who was also a part of the band named Magik had died at the end of the film and so will not be a part of the sequel.
