The Indian media is eagerly waiting for the most awaited moment and the happiest moment for the Bachchan family as Aishwarya Rai is due to give birth to her first child. In some relief for the Bachchan family who are now tired of the constant coverage of the story, some guidelines have been laid down for the media.
According to a memo issued on 5th November 2011, the media will not be allowed any pre-coverage of the event, no OB vans and cameras outside the hospital or the Bachchan residence. It was also mentioned that the story will be broadcasted only after an official announcement.
The channels are also not supposed to carry any photo or the MMS of the child, but it can be carried only if the family issues one. The guidelines have also mentioned not to do any astrology shows on the event.
On the other hand, the Bachchan family had opted to ignore the guidelines that have been laid down not only to maintain the privacy of the family but also to make the Indian electronic media more meaningful and value based. The guidelines have been mentioned by the Broadcast Editors Association and more than three hundred channels are the members of it.
