The Dirty Picture movie review – Bombaat Balan rules

Bollywood Garam: The most awaited movie ‘The Dirty Picture’ has been released on December 2, 2011. Director Milan Luthria, who has in the past made movies like ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’, has done complete justice to the script of the movie.

In the film, Vidya Balan can be seen at her garam best or it can be said that this her best performance till date. The promos of the movie have shown that it is all about sleaze and the oomph factor that will attract the audience, but the film has actually shown the reality behind the starry status of a star.

More than a story, it is an eye opener for the audience to see what it takes to be a sex symbol in the glamour industry. The story is about the south actress Silk Smitha, who was once known for her sexiness. Balan actually gets into the skin of Smitha and aptly portrays the feelings of a star who is always in the limelight.

The other actors Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi have given their best to their characters. The movie has shown the rise and the fall of a south actress, who was earlier known as Vijayalaxmi and later became popular as Silk Smitha. Over all, the movie is a must watch and fetches full marks in terms of entertainment. A must watch for the weekend.
