Indian designer Anita Dongre presented the India Modern Bridal Collection at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 on August 22, 2014. Dongre’s collection was presented by Taj Mahal Tea and the designs were inspired by the crafts and textiles of India.
The designer took inspiration from the grand architecture of the Mughal era and created designs for the bride of the 21st century. The lehengas in the collection were given a modern twist with subtle detailing and layers and complex embellishments like the dori and hand embroidery.
The collection was created with rich fabrics used for the cropped tops, lehengas and structured jackets.
