Bollywood Garam: Legendary actor Dev Anand, after being cremated in London, was once again remembered by thousands of fans, media people and celebrities who gathered at the Mehboob Studios for a memorial meeting on December 16, 2011. The ‘who’s who’ of Bollywood came in to pay their last tributes on Friday evening dedicated to the romantic actor.
Mehboob Studios in Bandra, Mumbai was the place where most of Anand’s films were shot. The venue still has his personal make up room, which has pictures of the late ‘Ziddi’ actor.
All the schedules on Friday were called off just for the day so as to accommodate the celebrities and the fans of Dev Anand. Yesteryear’s’ actresses like Tina Munim, Waheeda Rehman, Simi Garewal and Zeenat Aman came in to pay their last respects to the actor.
Actress Tabu too was seen and was the first one to reach the venue. Stars like Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan did not attend the meeting, but Aamir Khan arrived and stayed till the end. The other actors who attended the meeting included Fardeen Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vinod Khanna, Mani Ratnam, Shekhar Kapoor and Ramesh Sippy. The memorial meeting was also attended by the Kapoor brothers Rajiv, Rishi and Randhir, who were accompanied by late Shammi Kapoor’s son Aditya Raj Kapoor.
