Indian designer Rina Singh made her debut at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2015 with her back to the basics collection under her brand ‘Eka’ at Pragati Maidan, Delhi on October 9, 2014.
Eka’s spring-summer collection ‘Love is all you need’ was a display of organic handwoven textiles – linens and khadi cotton wear – with miniscule floral prints, thread embroidery, showcasing simple techniques such as kantha stitching and applique.
Her soft, feminine line of womenswear bore natural pastel and off-white shades on shifts, layered skirts, trapeze dresses, flowing linen dresses, patched khadi overcoats and tunics with side pockets, teamed with beanies, scarves and lace slips in layers.
Rina established Eka in 2010 and has since showcased her collections at many trade shows abroad. Currently, she sells her garments from 50 stores world wide. Her debut at WIFW is a calculated move to garner more attention to her brand at the national stage with simple, refreshing and natural fashion.
