Communication and advocacy initiative, Population First launched the 8th edition of the Laadli Media and Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity in partnership with Colors in Mumbai on November 9, 2016. The event saw the presence of Dolly Thakore, Raj Nayak from Colors, Dr. A.L. Sharada from Population First, Anuja Gulati from UNPFA, Meera Deosthale, Jigyasa Singh and others.
The Laadli Media Awards were instituted in March 2007 as a Mumbai centric event and was eventually taken to the National level with the support of the UNFPA.
The entries for the awards must be original and comply with the copyright requirements and must have been published/ displayed/ broadcast or telecast between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016.
