Stars from Bollywood gathered to celebrate movies at the Star Screen Awards 2016 held in Mumbai on December 4, 2016. One of the biggest highlights of the event was when Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan came together to host the event. There were many winners at the event but Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Pink’ was the biggest achiever of the night.
The movie managed to bag four awards including the ‘Best Film’ while superstar Amitabh Bachchan won the Best Actor Award. Young actress Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress Award for the movie ‘Udta Punjab’ which also starred Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. The first segment of the show was hosted by Karan Johar and Karan Singh Grover while Shahrukh and Salman took over the rest of the show. Veteran actress Rekha won the Lifetime Achievement award after actress Sonam Kapoor did a special performance on Rekha.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput won the Critics Choice For Best Actor for his performance in ‘M.S.Dhoni – The Untold Story’ while Swara Bhaskar won the Critics Choice Best Actress for her movie ‘Nil Battey Sannata’. The Awards night also saw Huma Qureshi, Varun Dhawan, Shweta Bachchan, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Kriti Sanon, Divya Khosla and others.
