For those who tuned into the Miss Universe 2016 pageant live last night, it was a marvelous affair with 86 promising contestants walking down the ramp in different segments followed by the final question round where hot global topics like the Refugee Crisis, International Migration and Open Borders were discussed.

In the end, Miss France – Iris Mittenaere won the prestigious contest and was crowned Miss Universe 2016 by predecessor, Miss Universe 2015 – Pia Wurtzbach of Philippines. She beat Miss Haiti, who was crowned First Runner up and Miss Columbia, who was crowned Second Runner up, to the coveted title.

While our very own, Miss India 2016, Roshmitha Harimurthy failed to make it to the top 13 in the prestigious beauty contest, she rocked the show with her walk and panache.

Miss Columbia 2016, Andrea Tovar (above) made it to the top 3 by grabbing the Second Runner up position in the Miss Universe 2016 Pageant held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in Manila, Phillipines.

It was the first time that Sierra Leone participated in the prestigious international beauty pageant and was represented by the gorgeous Aminata Adialin Bangura.
